I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at EY (Sydney) in Jan 2016
Interview
I applied through an employee referral and had the first round with the partner. Next, I had to undergo a normal interview process like a panel interview. One partner and one manager was present at the interview. The interview lasted very long for 1 hour 45 minutes. The questions were general, they were basically trying to see the candidates thinking capabilities, their culture fitment, how enthusiastic the candidate is, etc.
The first round of interview till the final joining date took two months and 1 week. The process was slow but they kept giving feedback at regular intervals. The partners and HR were very humble.

There were 2 options to choose from - Tax or consultancy.
I was part of the Tax interview after finishing my online aptitude test.
The interviewer asked basic accounting and tax related questions.
For ex. Golden rules of accounting & current income tax structure.
It was a pretty decent interview. If you are well prepared, there's a higher chance of getting in.
