Was contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn for a screening phone interview, which was pleasant and seemed to portray the company in a positive light. The following steps to apply for the role were confusing and required a lot of time - long drawn out application process (entry, essay questions, etc.) and assessments (both personality and cognitive).
After completing the online assessments I was told they were moving forward with an internal candidate... no biggie, that happens. However a week later I was contacted again to continue moving forward with the next steps which was the complete the cognitive assessment again via Skype to prove I was the one taking the assessment and that my answers would similarly reflect the original assessment... why the first assessment wasn't via Skype or recorded to save time on both ends is beyond me.
After responding and agreeing to complete the second assessment with multiple options and flexible availability, I had radio silence. Another week had passed and again was told another candidate had been selected to move forward into the role.
