      I interviewed at EagleView

      Interview

A recruiter found my profile on LinkedIn and reached out to me and offered to schedule a brief phone conversation about the position. Upon speaking with the recruiter the next day, I was advised of the requirement of the personality test and the cognitive test. I was told that I would have to take it once on my own and then take it once while being monitored by video. This struck me as odd. The rest of our conversation really didn’t provide any details on the benefits of the job or even a general idea of the compensation range/potential. This made me uncomfortable, because I felt that if I was being asked to spend 45 minutes to an hour of my time taking these tests that I should have some idea if this position would even pay within my desired salary range. When I asked what the general earning potential was in order to get a ballpark idea, the recruiter told me that only the hiring manager handles that. Since it is quite common in sales interviews to at least get a general idea of salary range upfront so that nobody involved wastes their time, I found his response not only offputting, but also highly unusual. This prompted me to read reviews for interviews on Glassdoor, and almost none of them have been positive. Considering I have almost 20 years of sales experience and that my last 10 years have been spent in what would be considered a very high-level sales job at a Fortune 100 company that is a household name, I find it incredibly unprofessional to not be able to provide any real information in a phone conversation, but then expect me to waste my time on their testing in hopes of the hiring manager gracing me with his presence. Therefore, I decided not to continue on with their process, including their required testing. I feel like this experience is a red flag and is probably a very telling of an overly antiquated and backward corporate culture not rewarding or deserving of top performing talent. Considering how tight employers are finding the labor market currently, it is definitely in employees market for jobs, and almost nobody has to go through such ridiculous shenanigans during an interview process, because the next potential job opportunity is just around the corner.
