Applied online. Was contacted 2 weeks later to set up screener interview. Screener interview with recruiter went well. The recruiter was the only good thing about this entire application process. They kept me well-informed and updated. I advanced to the next "real" interview. That interview would be 3 interviews with 2 sets of different people each. Pretty intense!
Before I did that, I had to complete a personality test and an intense timed cognitive assessment. They gave me a link to a practice app to prepare for the actual test which was really easy and fun and made me feel confident. But then the real test was much harder. It was more intense with difficult math probability questions as well as SAT-level word questions that were quite tricky. I was unable to complete the test in time but was told I did great. I don't know. It was really stressful and sucked.
Then I was set to interview over Zoom with 6 different people over the course of nearly 2 hours, one after the next. It was intense. There were 3 interviews with 2 people each. They were located in an office in a conference room, and it was hard to see hear them as the room they were in was loud and echo-y and they were tiny faces on my screen. Their conference room camera is too far away. I wish they used their computer cameras and microphones for this interview because I felt very far away and had trouble seeing their faces.
Then when I was having final series of interviews with the VP and Senior CSS, one of the interviewers kept having to leave to deal with a customer issue and seemed distracted the entire time and the VP seemed unprepared and unsure of even what to ask me. I felt like I was wasting his time and it destroyed my confidence. It was weird. Awkward hell.
I could tell by the end of the interview that they were going to pass on me and was really bummed out because I already had given so much time and energy taking their dumb tests and going through the interview gauntlet.
Then I was told I'd hear back in less than a week and heard nothing. Then finally, after two weeks and multiple calls and emails from me, the recruiter finally called me back to say they decided to go with someone else. Gee, thanks for taking the time to tell me.
I wish I could say it was a good process and they are a good team, but it seems like they don't quite know what they are looking for and I see that the job listing is still open. It is a shame because I know I could have been great in this job. I think they didn't like that I didn't have remote work experience and also that I haven't ever used Salesforce. So, I'm taking a class on it right now.
