Interview was just fine. I completed the interview with the general hiring manager (lead engineer) and had very positive feedback. I was sure to get the project.
However, it is the Edwards hiring policy (HR practices) that is in question. They want to dig into your whole salary / compensation history. What company (unless you're dealing in finances or government), will go into that extreme. I questioned the legality of such a borderline illegal practice and reached out to my attorney and the Labor Board as well as the state attorney to question this company's hiring practices. Apparently, it is not illegal to do such a screening as long as there is a justified purpose for such a verification. This to me is same as asking me 'if i'm pregnant' and if 'i am Native-American' in an interview. Absolutely unnecaptable! This is probably one way they will screen for you to not get the position (if you opt-out).
Then there is the 2 questions regarding your criminal background which is definitely not intuitive and deceptive. In one question you can say yes/no as you would with any other company application but then they repeat the same question forcing you into saying "YES" even if a record was EXPUNGED!! Now does that sound like a setup? What's the point of expunging a record if they will force / coerce / scare you into spilling your guts (pardon the cliche).
Although the company has a very long retention rate and very happy employees, this company has strange hiring tactics and seems a bit cultish.
