I only had a phone screen with the recruiter for the position. The recruiter called me 15 minutes late and was not prepared. She did not read anything on my resume beforehand. After responding to her question of where I saw my career in 5 years, the recruiter seemed to brush off my response. She mentioned that there's been a lot of turnover in the position and they are really just looking for someone who is okay with doing mundane tasks and not looking to move up in the organization. That is okay to be transparent that the tasks are mundane and more administrative, but it gave off a bad feeling that there is no room for career growth. I asked her if this role had any career development opportunities, and she said that you could move from an associate to a senior associate, but you would be doing the same work. This was discouraging to see that there was no room for any kind of growth and that you are expected to do the same thing forever. I decided not to move forward with the process after this phone screening.
