The interview process took 4 months. I went through 6 rounds of interviews (Recruiter, recruiter again, Current Director of Procurement, Global Director of Procurement, CFO, VP HR) and was asked to build a PowerPoint presentation on strategy and how I would execute the new role, which took hours. I also provided two professional references that were called and interviewed. Drug screen, extensive background check, and driving record check. I was then presented a conditional offer. This process took nearly 3 months. Process done correct? NO!
Additionally, I had to do a 1-day 8-hour intensive management simulation, which required about 10 hours worth of prep. The simulation was built around sales not procurement. I had to wait 3 weeks for the simulation then another 2 for results. After being told this was no big deal and the results were overall good, the offer was rescinded. I suspect that the company never wanted to hire anyone and was looking for free consulting, which I foolishly gave them. If that is not the case, the company has no capability of making decisions, and the CFO who made the final call gave no bearing to his team which wanted to hire me.
