Elevate K-12 interview questions

They reached out to me and asked me to interview. I was asked to prepare a lesson with slides and materials provided by them. The interviewer seemed unfriendly and unimpressed even before I started the lesson. She acted as if she was in a rush and seemed uncooperative to participate in the lesson I was presenting. Wasn't surprised I later received a rejection message.

I have not worked for Elevate K-12, but I have participated in two interview rounds with them. During the first interview, I was asked to teach a German lesson using a provided PowerPoint. I was instructed not to use any additional materials. Unfortunately, the PowerPoint was of low quality—it consisted primarily of a list of vocabulary words rather than a structured lesson. The interviewer did not provide any feedback following the demo lesson, did not turn on their camera, and offered no assistance in navigating their platform or sharing my screen. Later, I was invited to complete a second pre-interview. Again, I received no feedback or guidance. I’m genuinely open to making improvements and adjustments, but without any constructive input, it’s unclear how to align with their expectations. I hold a Master’s in Teaching from a respected U.S. university and have three years of public school teaching experience, so I approach these opportunities with professionalism and a willingness to grow. Based on my experience, it seems their process may be guided by a checklist, but the criteria feel arbitrary and are not clearly communicated. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of structure, support, and transparency throughout the process. Despite having gone through two interview cycles, I was recently contacted again to apply for a German teaching position—as if my previous participation had not been noted. If Elevate K-12 were more transparent and communicative, I would have been happy to adjust to their needs. However, given my experience, I would not feel comfortable recommending their services to schools or educators.
