Interview process moved quickly, and HR followed up immediately with a case study before scheduling a conversation with the hiring manager, which I appreciated. However, I had mixed impressions of the rest of the process. The interviewer did not have their camera on, which made the interaction feel less engaging and somewhat impersonal. I also prepared a 5-minute video for the case study, but only about 2 minutes were reviewed, making the effort feel unnecessary and misaligned with expectations. In addition, they did not test my AI agent at all (which I was able to verify through their tool usage) suggesting that the solution was not fully evaluated or understood. The hiring manager did not appear to be as senior as expected and did not ask any strategic or behavioral questions. This is something typically expected in a high tech company to assess cognitive skills and how candidates approach different types of challenges. Finally, when I asked for feedback after being told that some of my answers lacked the depth they were looking for, I received no follow up. This raises questions about whether the concern was truly with my responses or with their internal process.
