I applied online. I interviewed at Empowerly (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2022
Interview
Straight forward interview about background in admissions/ college counseling, experience, and availability. The interviewer made the process positive and welcoming. I felt comfortable and the questions were as expected for this type of role.

Question 1
Tell us about your experience working with students and parents in the application process? What do you enjoy about working with students?
After submitting my application, I was sent a very lengthy "assessment." I knew I lacked some of the experience they were looking for, so I was surprised to receive the assessment at all-- but I did my best to complete it, which took several hours. I quickly heard back that they had decided to hire someone more aligned with their "counseling philosophy" (none of the questions on the assessment had anything to do with this).

Question 1
What summer program would you recommend for a student with interests in computer science?
Easy folks to talk to. As a college counselor already, the questions were nice and thoughtful. Not difficult at all and very personable people. I met with Leslie and she was great.
