I applied online. I interviewed at Etsy (New York, NY) in May 2021
Interview
Applied online and was sent an email couple days later to phone screen with recruiter. Once on the phone with recruiter things went downhill fast. The internal recruiter came across as scripted and robotic. No real conversation. The salary range was low, and their philosophy is to compensate with a below market base salary and offer a long-term incentive via restricted stock units (RSUs) paid over a specified period of years. Nice try. Sorry, not interested.
By the way, not sure why I was even contacted when they can clearly see from my resume that my background and skills align with a comp package much higher than what they are looking to offer. Obviously, no one read my resume and the invite to interview was computer generated. Overall, very impersonable experience.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Etsy (Brooklyn, NY) in Aug 2018
Interview
The whole process was organized and professional. I appreciated that everyone I interacted with was warm and friendly, yet the interviews themselves felt very objective. I interviewed with 5 different employees I would potentially be working with. Everyone focused on my relevant work experience, how I approach/solve problems, and my career goals. Overall the interview experience was welcoming, professional, and provided a good glimpse into the company culture and objectives for the job.
