      Account Executive Interview

      Jan 8, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at EvenUp in Jan 2025

      Interview

Pros: The role sounded promising, and the recruiter seemed polite and friendly throughout the process. Cons: This was one of the most unorganized and unprofessional interview experiences I’ve ever had. Here’s what happened: I was asked to select an initial interview time via their calendar link, which I did. The day of the interview, the recruiter called me, but it rang once. I called back immediately, but no answer. Hours later, they followed up asking to reschedule. During the rescheduled call, the recruiter didn’t seem prepared. They couldn’t answer basic questions about the compensation split, benefits, or even the specifics of the role without me prompting. Despite this, I stayed optimistic and moved forward. I was scheduled for a hiring manager interview. The day before the interview, they changed the time, which was inconvenient but manageable. However, minutes before the rescheduled interview, I received an email canceling it altogether with no explanation other than "in respect to the manager’s time." No feedback, no reasoning—just a cancellation. Advice to Management: I understand startups can be chaotic, but this experience shows a lack of respect for candidates' time and effort. If you’re going to engage with prospective hires, at least show the same level of preparation and professionalism you expect from candidates. Cancelling an interview minutes before it’s scheduled, especially after asking someone to adjust their time, reflects poorly on your company. For anyone considering applying here: I ignored the negative reviews about this company, but my experience confirmed that they were right. Think twice before investing your time here—they don’t seem to value it.

Contacted by a recruiter via LinkedIn. The phone screen was about me and my past experience. The questions were directed at sales experience and what drives me, typical box checking questions. There was a little time at the end to probe into the company.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at EvenUp in Sep 2025

      Interview

I had an interview with one of their recruiters. Two more interviews were scheduled. With less than an hour before my second interview I was told the interviewer was no longer available and they would need to reschedule. A few minutes later I was told they had someone else to interview me. A few minutes later the interview was canceled again. I was told that person was also no longer available. The next day I received an email telling me that I was not a fit for the role. There seems to be little respect for the candidate’s time as I dedicated time to prep for this interview that never happened only to be rejected without getting the opportunity to complete the interview. I also think it is weird they set up the second and third interview and suddenly I am no longer a fit.

      Interview

Manager interview was wonderful; the follow-up from a recruiter was disappointing to say the least. Had a very organic conversation, we both seemed to enjoy the rapport however I got an email shortly after they had gone with another candidate. Which I get if they were further along no worries, no harm no foul. Then they repost the role in that territory. This has never happened to me before and I would have rather gotten some real feedback if I made a misstep than lies which told me everything I need to know about the company itself.
