I was contacted by a recruiter shortly after applying online. During the first interview the recruiter just asked me about how my experience relates to each requirement on the job description. I had good answers for each of his questions. I was then asked to write some Python code. Everything went well and I was contacted about a second interview a few days later. This second interview was one of the worst interview experiences I've ever had. It was scheduled for 1 hour and I was told it would include a project deep dive and Python question. First of all the interviewer showed up late. When he finally showed up, he asked me the basic tell me about yourself question. I gave him a basic overview of my last coupe years of experience and mentioned why I'm interested in working here. He immediately came at me and said I would not like working on their product and their product isn't that great. Their product is basically the same as what I'm working on in my current job but he didn't care about any of my experience. He went straight to the Python question which was just copied from Leetcode. I took my time because the interview was scheduled for an hour. I solved the problem but he acted very annoyed the whole time because I didn't see the optimal solution right away. After about 20 minutes from the start of the interview he decides to end everything and I was able to ask questions. After a few minutes of that he cuts me off and says goodbye. Overall it was a very rushed interview and I didn't get the chance to talk about my engineering experience at all. I wasn't asked a single question about it. A few days later I received the rejection email but I probably would not have proceeded anyways. It's a major red flag when senior leadership can't display confidence in their own product. They are just looking for people who memorized Leetcode solutions to push buttons. Hopefully they can find people who actually know how to run an interview.
