Disorganized Candidate Experience & Weak Communication. The process started strong, application to HR screening in under 3 days, and a hiring manager interview within 1 week. I was told to expect an update within two weeks. What followed was silence. Over a month passed with no communication from the hiring team. My follow-up email to the recruiter went unanswered. The applicant portal remained frozen on "scheduled/under consideration," and the portal’s automated assistant vaguely stated "Interview Feedback Conversation Complete" with no further context. I only learned of the outcome by checking the portal myself after the job posting was quietly taken down. No decision email, no courtesy rejection, just an automated feedback request and a status change I had to discover. Exact Sciences publicly lists "accountability" as a core value. Ghosting candidates after interviews, ignoring follow-up emails about the process, and not communicating to the candidate they were rejected is a direct contradiction of that. Candidates invest real time and capital in your process. They deserve a straight answer, wether positive or not. Candidates rarely, if ever, receive feedback from employers, but I sincerely hope you use the feedback we provide to improve your pipeline.

I recently had two approximately one-hour interviews for a Research Scientist position in Munich: one with the talent acquisition team and another with the hiring manager. Initially, everything seemed great. Both interviewers were friendly and appeared professional. However, after the second interview and some follow-up email exchanges, I was ghosted. I didn't receive even a simple "we went with someone else" message. Despite sending several emails asking for an update, I got no response. This behavior was very disrespectful and surely reflects the kind of company they are.
