I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Expedia Group (London, England) in Jan 2018
Interview
I applied online following from the company visit at my university. The process overall took 4 months starting off with technical case study involving programming and business knowledge, 1:1 online video interview, three 1-hour sessions onsite, and 2 final interviews. All interviewers were very nice, knowledgeable in their area of expertise, and always tried to make sure I performed at my best during the interviews. I truly have positive attitude towards the working team.
However, I have a very negative impression towards the recruitment process. The recruiter responsible for university recruitment during early 2018 has been the MOST unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in my entire career life. She was requesting me for the university confirmation letter after the interviews to prove that I was able to intern, but when it took a month, which seems too long to hear back for the final decision, I decided to follow up with emails and calls over the course of 2 months (during which I can 100% confirm that she was still active for the role) and did not receive any responses at all. It was until I found out the result by reaching an employee in the hiring team through professional connections - I believe this is clearly the case where such result needs to be formally communicated by the recruiter instead of someone else.

Question 1
What is/are the main difference(s) between traditional programming languages vs. R/Python?
The interview was very well prepared and smoothly organized by the HR team. I truly appreciate how thoughtful and considerate they were, especially in taking into account my availability to attend the session. It made the whole experience feel very welcoming and professional. Kudos to the team for their effort and dedication—your kindness does not go unnoticed. May God bless you all.
Online assessment on Hackerrank, one medium and one hard coding and 6 mcqs. Coding was based on array iteration and binary searches. Was proctored (required to turn on camera and record your screen).
