      Interview

Very long and drawn out interview process with one phone screening and 5 interviews over the course of 2 months! Their recruiter reached out over LinkedIn, said I was perfect for the job and to send my resume if I was interested. After speaking over the phone about the position, I sent the resume over and followed up immediately via email and phone message to confirm it was received. After that, I didn't hear from them for over a month, figured I had been ghosted so moved on. Eventually I received an email from the recruiter that she wanted to have a 30min phone screening which wasn't difficult. From there she said she was moving me forward with the immediate supervisor. The second interview was over MS teams and about an hour. The recruiter reached out and said it went really well and I was the frontrunner so they were moving me on to another round because they wanted to fill the position quickly. The third interview was with two people from different departments and who also worked out of state which I thought was odd as I was applying for a position on site. After meeting with them the recruiter informed me I would still be having two more rounds of interviews, again with some people in unrelated departments and who were out of state. The final interview was on site with an executive assistant and CFO. In one of my final questions to them I asked what challenges I could expect from this role within the first 30 days and was told that was a loaded question. It took a week and a half after this final interview to receive my rejection letter that they were moving forward with someone else. I knew this wasn't true as they reposted the job after receiving the email and are interviewing a new round of candidates. Overall it was a very stressful and unnecessarily long interview process. I felt led on by the recruiter and got the impression they are a very disorganized company. If the interviewer gets defensive from a candidate asking them a difficult question, that is definitely a red flag.
