Intense and lengthy. Didn't leave out anything.
I applied online for a Co-op Opportunity and got a response from them through email about 2 - 3 weeks later. Gave me 2 days to prepare for the 2-on-1 Skype interview and stated it would be 2 hours long. That struck me as strange since most interviews are only an hour max.
The actual interview was over 2 and a half hours. Had two amazing ladies (one in Calgary and the other in Ft. McMurray) interview me, one of whom would be supervising the role. They started with my Resume and the experience I had mentioned on it. Went point by point and took about 20 - 25 mins on that part.
They then moved onto my educational background and my Undergrad and Grad Studies. Asked me about the different courses I took and which I liked and disliked. This took about another 15 - 20 mins. They would go back and forth between each other for every question.
They then moved onto the Behavioural questions part and told me to try and answer in the STAR format. Asked me about different situations and how I would deal with them. I provided as much detail as I could, reflecting on my past experience. They would frequently ask follow-up questions on what I did and how I reacted to situations I told them about. This part took almost 45 mins.
The 4th part was them explaining the role to me. They told me what to expect from this role and what they're looking for. This was pretty standard and took about 10 - 15 mins.
The last part was them letting me ask some questions. I asked about 3 or 4 and they gave pretty good answers. They did ask me towards the end, why I felt I would be a good choice for ExxonMobil. I feel I gave a pretty strong answer on that. This part was about another 20 - 25 mins.
Before hanging up, they told me I'd get a response in about 3 - 4 weeks time. Sure enough, about 3 weeks later I got a request for a background check. Finished that in 2 days and another 2 days later I had the offer letter.
Overall, the interview was pretty intense. I was mentally exhausted by the end, having spoken for about 2.5 hours straight. But I really appreciated the fact that the interviewers didn't leave anything out. They were very comprehensive and only hung up after they were sure they had gotten everything from me. It was very satisfying for me because I felt I gave it my all.
