I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ExxonMobil in Oct 2021
Interview
I applied for the position and didn't hear back until after about a month. My understanding is not enough candidates with direct operations experience applied, so they had to broaden their search, which I was then eligible for.
I had an hour long phone screening interview with the process engineering supervisor. I was invited for an on-site interview about a week or two after the phone screening interview.
The on-site interview consisted of three one hour one-on-one interviews: one "technical," one behavioral and one seemingly a mix of both with the process engineering supervisor. Smushed into the process, before the final one-on-one, was a half hour session with HR to go over benefits.
Each of the one-on-one interviews followed a rigid format on the interviewers end where the interviewer asked questions based on pre-determined prompts they read off. They then took down notes either by hand or on their PC based on my response.
The "technical" interview was not so much focused on items from my resume or accomplishments, which definitely threw me off. There were about three or four questions that were seemingly both "technical" and behavioral in nature. Essentially, one needs to make their work experiences fit into their question. Fair method of questioning, but one style I didn't prep for.
The behavioral one-on-one was your typical STAR style Q/A. Have four to six instances with positives outcomes that can be applied to multiple behavioral questions and you're golden. Normally, I'm most nervous for these, but I felt this one went better than the "technical" interview.
Finished up with the process engineering supervisor. Mix of both "technical" and behavioral questions. Finished with some casual discussion, which I think more often then not means the interview is going well.
I didn't hear back until exactly two weeks after my on-site interview that I received an offer for the position.

Very good. Three stages of interviews. Phone screen, online interview, then on site interview that included a behavioral based interview, technical interview, then chat with department head. Ensure that all interview answered are structured correctly and just be yourself. Interview them as they interview you.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at ExxonMobil (Beaumont, TX) in Oct 2022
Interview
3- steps, not to difficult. There is a behavior interview, followed by a technical interview, the the closing interview with a technical head at the site. Intimidating, but the questions were not to bad at all
