Interview
I interviewed at ExxonMobil Singapore in Dec 2021.
I have my second interview immediately after my first interview.
The first interview was mainly on getting to know my working experience and my motivation to apply for the role.
The second interview was scenario-based.
The interviewers were professional and engaging and I enjoyed the interviews.
However, HR was poor at communicating with candidates and it needs to be greatly improved. After my interview on Dec 21, I email HR to ask them for the hiring timeline and was told that they will update me.
After a month on Jan 22, I email them again and they inform me that they provide an update.
On Feb 22, I decided to check in with them the final time and was told that again that they will provide an update. 2 days later, my application status on the candidate portal was changed to no longer in consideration. No email updates from HR.
I believe that it is basic respect and courtesy to provide an update to candidates. At least let them know the timeline and even if the application is unsuccessful send the candidate by email to inform them.
