Spoke to the recruiter for a 30 minute interview. Good conversation. They scheduled a follow up with the hiring manager for about 10 days later. I logged onto the zoom on time, and waited in the waiting room to be let in. And waited. And waited. And waited. After 9 minutes I emailed the coordinator who had scheduled the interview with me and asked if the manager was still going to join. The coordinator first asked me to “standby” and then asked for my availability for the following week if they needed to reschedule. Another email a few minutes later (now 20 min after interview was supposed to start) saying they needed to reschedule. So I waited 20 minutes in the waiting room for nothing. I would’ve appreciated an email or call around the start time of the call if the interviewer needed to cancel due to something urgent. Things happen, I understand. But this was extremely unprofessional to not reach out to me at all, until I reached out. Would they have even contacted me had I not asked if the interviewer was still joining? Probably not. Very professional and rude. Bad candidate experience. I will not be rescheduling.
