I was living Auckland. At beginning, I applied a software engineer role on the company website, here I call it role A. 2 weeks later HR officer call me from another country(seems there was no local recruiter in the company) says there was another role was hiring urgently, I said I also would like to try, it can be role B. then I have the opportunity to speak to hiring manager and a senior developer in a interview via skype, however, I didn’t make it, they hire another candidate. During this period I applied another role which can be role C because I feel the original role A would be hopeless. Then two or three weeks later on a Friday HR told me that I could have interview with the original role A, I said that’s great and provided the dates I would be available. On the same day afternoon another recruiter call me from the same country said I would have an interview for role C, because it was overtime and I hadn’t received the confirmation from the first recruiter, so I thought maybe the first interview wasn’t made so I said ok to have the interview for role C. Then later second recruiter said he booked a face-to-face interview in the next Tuesday morning for me, I said I would have a fright in the evening on Tuesday so I ask recruiter double confirm whether hiring manger must have face-to-face interview, if so I would like to show my sincerity and go to Christchurch. On Saturday evening I found first recruiter sent me an email was in spam box to also book me on Tuesday. I tried to call back to recruiter B but I cannot connect with him. Then Sunday recruiter B called me back and we clarified there are 2 interviews on the same day. Then recruiter B said I will have interview with 2 managers at same time. I Then I have an interview with hiring manager and a senior developer for role A but the manger for Role C didn’t join. 2 days later HR called me say hiring manager would like to get me into next stage which more about my information check, however, it would be a intermediate role. I said in the phone that I would like to take it and also would like to know the rough salary range for this role. HR officer said he could provide me that shortly, then go to check but didn’t send back anything to me. Then I called once to ask whether it would be a problem if I ask this question, HR said it’s no problem because I was qualified and let me just wait a moment. 3 days later I was told they decided to hire another internal role. Recuiter A said recuiter B will contact me if the Role C available. I feel unbelievable and a little upset because I already told my family the good news and started to plan moving to Christchurch.
