I applied through college or university. I interviewed at FTI Consulting in Jan 2012
Interview
Applied for summer internship through campus career center. Was selected for first round (1:1 interview with senior analyst). Asked about courses (econometrics specifically) and asked for details about projects, and some specific questions about regressions. Rest of the interview was behavioral questions. Interviewer was not that personable, and did not feel like I connected.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about an experience where you had to work with someone who was extremely difficult.
For the AC
1) group round - did a case study and each of us were asked questions based on our group answer after
2) math and verbal reasoning test, written essay test
3) individual interviews - one with current analysts about cv, one with a partner (casing)
Pretty basic behavioral questions - no technicals. I'd recommend knowing your "why" and being able to clearly explain your interest in the specific practice. Also, prepare to ask the interviewer more in-depth questions, too.
Online assessment including verbal and numerical parts for the financial and economic consulting intern position. Given one minute for each question, I insist the time was quite tight for verbal part
