I was interviewed 4 times over a course of 6 weeks. The only feedback I received following each interview was that I was a "great/perfect fit". After my second round of interviews I noticed that the employer marked the open position as "no longer accepting applicants", which was a good sign to me. Additionally, the recruiting team was emailing me within an hour after my interviews asking for my feedback and later on in the week to check in with me. It felt like I was going to be joining an awesome team up until my third interview. This role was a fully remote position, so all interviews were conducted by video conference. My third interviewer joined the 30 minute call 7 minutes late, and literally sat in the front seat of her car for the entire duration of my interview. She was unprepared and repeatedly prompted me to guide the conversation. Then after my fourth interview, a week and a half went by without any communication from the recruiting team, which was extremely out of character, so I knew something was wrong. 12 days after my 4th interview, I received an email from recruiting that another candidate was selected because that candidate had "more knowledge of the industry". Fast forward two weeks later, the company posted a new job opening for a Solutions Marketing Manager, with the exact same job details and descriptions as when I was interviewing for the position.
