Applied online and recruiter contacted via email shortly to schedule Skype interview. Two engineers contacted me to and talked to me about my previous experience. Interviewers were friendly and seemed passionate about their work. Given this this is a startup, it was not surprising to see that they seemed very overworked.
After the interview, I sent a thank you follow up e-mail and never heard any response from the recruiter, which I thought was very unprofessional.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Faraday Future in Feb 2023
Interview
Easy interview process but they usually take 4-5 rounds. Starts with technical screening. One DSA question. Then followed by background discussion. They usually like to ask one coding question in every interview.

input a string and check if that is a valid palindrome
I applied online. I interviewed at Faraday Future in Apr 2017
Interview
I had two interviews with Faraday Future. The first one was a phone interview with two senior level interviewers. I was asked a couple of questions about my background in general. The rest of them of were about my Android experience in very specific areas.
Then Faraday Hiring coordinator shared a one week development task with me. And asked to implement it and send my solution back to the team. The task included AOSP modifications and some extra credits, which involved the implementation of native library and patches for some AOSP components. The task had hardware and firmware specific requirements and was heavy in terms of building time, memory usage and implementation of different patches for AOSP modules . (you practically have to download and build the whole AOSP to run and test the final solution on emulator), i even needed to upgrade my Mac OS to perform it. I completed the task and all extra credits in one week as was requested and was waiting for a feedback next two weeks.
Finally i got an email, which says:"Thank you for the time you spend on chatting with us." I was badly shocked.
While i don't want to dispute the interview result, I am still pretty sure my implementation was correct in general: I was able to verify all requested changes on emulator. It was an interesting challenge for me. But, since i spent the whole week working on it, I expected some professional conversation with Faraday Future engineers about this task. But instead I got a highly unprofessional and very formal response without any explanations.
It seems the company hiring culture is far from normal standards. They seem to give quite heavy and time consuming tasks to candidates and don't want to spend time on testing/discussing provided solutions and giving appropriate feedback.
