      Engineer Interview

      Feb 18, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Gardena, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Faraday Future (Gardena, CA)

      Interview

The interview was onsite in Gardena. Faraday Future payed for the flight, but I had to pick up the hotel, car rental and other incidentals. Interview lasted about 4 hours, and was mostly unstructured. I was asked to give a 15 minute presentation about myself and experience. The 15 minutes was not hard, and this was more of a Q-A than presentation (thankfully). Different engineers and managers came and went freely to interview me. Most questions were technical, but some were so-called competency-type questions. Faraday Future did offer me a position, but expected a VERY quick start even knowing I own a home outside of California. The salary was low, and stock options were offered to make up for the difference. However, the company would not disclose any information about the stock options. They would not tell me how many basis points they were worth nor shares outstanding. I don't think the stock options will be worth much in the end. The inflexibility about start date, low salary, sketchy stock options and weaselly recruiter were just one too many red flags. As of today, my interview was in 2015, and I have not been reimbursed for expenses (in the hundreds of dollars range). I submitted an expense report less than a week after the interview. Faraday Future apparently only expects the rank-and-file to "move fast." I doubt I will see that money again. Looking past just the treatment I received, one of the supposed benefits of working for Faraday Future is the caliber of engineers you will work with. But, when there are red flags, you know that other highly intelligent people are seeing them and moving on too. You have to wonder what kind of people are buying this hype. I would not recommend Faraday Future.

      Gardena, CA

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Faraday Future (Gardena, CA) in May 2016

      Interview

A casual interview with multiple people in various teams. I'd say it was an easy interview but the process was very chaotic. Interviewers were not showing up or had a wrong information....overall they don't know what they're doing. To be short, the company is super disorganized and slow. I have a feeling that they're not quite ready for anything.
