I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fastenal (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2017
Interview
Two interviews. First, with the General Manager of the store you will be working with. Second, with the District Manager. The interview process has a standard set of boiler plate questions. Many of the questions are, why do you want to work here, what is your motivation to work, describe a time when...Etc. Pretty straight forward interviews taking about 45 minutes to an hour each. Quick turn around response time.

Question 1
Describe a time you had trouble with a coworker and how did you handle it?
Very relaxed interview process it was more so just conversation with questions thrown in. Not too difficult of questions. Probably hired me based on personality honestly, but worked out well in the end.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fastenal (Evans, GA) in Mar 2026
Interview
Three tier interview system, went smooth very nice and insightful went for full time role and got offered part time role. They do say most part time roles will turn full time after a few months but still debating on working there due to the low pay they offer which is a very big con for someone trying to find work out of college.
I applied online. I interviewed at Fastenal (St. John's, NL) in Jan 2026
Interview
I applied online, then received an invitation for a phone interview. A few days later, I got a call from the branch office to schedule an in-person interview. I didn’t receive an offer because I don’t have a full driver’s license.
