The interview process was disappointing due to the lack of alignment among the interviewers regarding the role expectations.
I initially interviewed for an AR Specialist role. After my interview, I was informed that I was considered overqualified for that position and that my experience aligned much better with the End-to-End AR Accountant role. Based on that feedback, I proceeded with another round.
However, the final interview had a completely different direction. The questions focused heavily on generic career topics, compensation, long-term plans, and basic operational scenarios. Eventually, I was informed that my experience did not match their expectations.
As a candidate, this was confusing. If two interviewers felt my experience was better suited for the AR Accountant role, it was difficult to understand why the final decision was that my experience was not a fit. It gave the impression that the hiring team was not fully aligned on the profile they were looking for.
The overall process was lengthy, involving multiple interview rounds over an extended period. Candidates are expected to invest significant time preparing for each stage, but the evaluation criteria seemed to change from one interviewer to another. I would recommend that the hiring team align internally on the role expectations before moving candidates through several rounds. That would make the process more transparent and respectful of candidates’ time.
