My situation was unique because I was in the middle of relocating to San Francisco, where Fictiv HQ is.
I submitted my application online through Fictiv's website. A recruiter reached out to me a week later. We began with a phone screen. I was asked if there were any competing offers, which there were. When they found that out, they fast tracked the process without diminishing the quality, which I really appreciated. That same day I had a video call with the hiring manager, which was a great time.
Fictiv totally respected my timeline and we ended up being flexible with each other. I ended up being able to interview in person when moving on to the next stage and it was excellent. I interviewed (separately) with an Account Executive, Head of Sales & Customer Experience, and the Technical Account Executive. They took time to get to know me and make sure I knew the role as well. In addition, I was able to get a sense of Fictiv's culture as they allowed me to ask all of my questions, of which I had many.
Following the in-person interview, since I had to fly back home, I did a virtual pancake social (if I was local, it would have been an in-person pancake social where the Fictiv team makes pancakes for candidates in a casual final round interview), and I got to meet more of the team and share my background with them.
Overall, it was one of the best interview experiences I've had, and the Fictiv team totally earned my trust throughout the process. The HR Manager that worked with me through the process stood out a lot. Instead of boiler-plate questions, she was truly interested in hiring the right person for the role and was excited to find the right fit for the company.
