Found the job on Glassdoor and it looked high percentagely similar to my old jobs, applied, then was contacted a few days later.
The HM set me up with a phone interview, and was slightly late to the call. I had offers in progress as well so I informed him of that to push up the process. He asked typical questions about my background, and jumped right into typical situational and behavioral STAR type questions. I went and asked him the company, his own experience, etc. typical ask the company kinda questions, and in general it seemed to go well, and well over time.
For the next step, HR contacted me to speak with the Sr. person on the team, as I would work with him the most. The meeting was to be done via Google Meets, but HR didn't inform me the link to the meeting would be within the Google Calendar event. Overall, the Sr. person was late to the meeting as well, so it gave me the impression that because it's a SF Bay Area tech startup like many others, they may have the typical startup culture where it's fast paced overworked kinda thing. He asked also typical STAR questions, but they were a bit harder. A 15 minute interview turned into about 30-40. The entire time we couldn't connect, and there was a lot of miscommunication so I could already tell we would not be a good fit to work with each other. It didn't seem like he knew how to interview or phrase his questions and was not very understanding or picked up on social cues which I could see being potential issues during work.
