The recruiter wasn’t very friendly on the call and immediately went through a slew of interrogating questions about my work history. She had my resume before she called. If there was a problem or doubt beforehand, then don’t waste my time on a 15-minute call. The call felt stiff and scripted. I am not sure how she got that job in the first place, but she is not good at what she does. Took no time to sell me on why I should even work for their company. Then, she sent me a rejection email less than 24 hours later, and I never got an interview with the hiring manager. Yeah, if you don’t make the conversation inviting, you are not going to get great answers from me. She is the reason I didn’t get moved to the next stage. I am not even sure why she called me. It is 2022. Quit making candidates feel less than because they want to advance their careers by leaving companies.
I have applied for other roles. If they give me a shot at the other ones with a more experienced recruiter, I will consider updating my review.
