Eek... Started out well. Applied via a recruiter who came to me with the position. I looked over the job description, it looked in line with my experience, so I told her she could move forward with submitting me. Got an interview request an hour later from the in house recruiter, and a phone interview with the hiring manager was scheduled the next afternoon. After speaking with the hiring manager, it seems they were looking for someone with more of an analyst background (not my background), however it was a pleasant conversation which ended with him saying their recruiter would be in touch to close the loop after they finished the phone screens. Instead, the next morning, I received a canned email from their ATS from a do not reply email address. Here's my feedback to the team: Particularly with candidates that have gotten to interview stages (rather than being screened out after the initial application), be respectful of the time they took to speak with you and take the time on your end to write a personalized email from a real person (Or better yet - tell them while your'e still on the phone! Saves time and while not a pleasant conversation, hiding behind an email later gives me the impression that you lack the communication and managerial skills to be a good leader.). If a candidate makes it to onsite interviews or has to submit an assignment, that person deserves a phone call rejection.
