Applied via internet, hiring manager emailed me to set up a time to speak. The day of the phone interview she sent an email to cancel and reschedule. I did the latter, but on the day of the phone interview I received no call. I waited an hour then emailed her to let her know that she had inconvenienced me twice. Right away she sends an email claiming that their reservation system had an issue. Never mind that that same system made the reservation fine as it was her calendar that popped up with the specific date and time when she had rescheduled; that's the reason why I had a particular date and time selected. If it were not working properly I'd have received an error message I'm sure. And certainly the date and time wouldn't have appeared on my calendar too. She also revealed that she was on a week's holiday , sorry, and if I wanted to change my mind she'd understand. Well, firstly she blamed the system for messing up the appointment time then she says she's on vacation. If she knew that she'd be on vacation why would she have sent that particular date and time for my phone interview? I did respond once again saying that I understand (as I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt although I had other thoughts) and I'd still like to proceed with the interview process. No reply to date. I figure that this is not a person to be trusted. She seeked out my resume, made a big deal of talking to me then just reneged. Apparently she must have seen my resume early and after more people sent their resumes later on she like theirs better. But she had no courage to tell me that. I am glad that I'm not being considered as I truly hate to work for companies that actually promote such unprofessional and inconsiderate people such as this hiring manager!!
Update-5/21/19: Received generic 'thanks, but no thanks' for applying from the same hiring manager's email address (I'm sure it was sent via their HR dept. though). Again this person has no spine, no conscience at all. The labor board ought to get in and help candidates like myself who have been treated with no respect whatsoever from people in the position to hire because it is pretty upsetting and most of all: Unfair.
