I had an informal phone interview after which I was invited to interview in person. What was shocking and disappointing was, I was told there was a "transparent and open dialog" within the company. But then, as our conversations progressed, I asked the obvious question about the range of compensation offered, and was completely cut off with no explanation. This is fine with me, because I wouldn't want to work somewhere where these are the values. However, it struck me as very odd and contradictory. I understand those questions are tough to answer, but it's also tough to take time off of work to come to a company and interview, so it's best for both parties if these details are brought to light ahead of time. I would say, if you are OK with entering into a role or interview blind, then this company is for you!
