I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Files.com in Apr 2024
Interview
The interview process was fairly long, but I didn't mind because the questions were varied, and I had the chance to hear multiple perspectives on the company. If I could change one aspect of the process, I would suggest including an interview with a peer in the position I was applying for. This could provide a more honest opinion of the company compared to only meeting with Directors.
Everyone I met during the interview process was phenomenal. They are all individuals I would love to work and collaborate with, which made the process professional yet organic.
The interview process was structured as follows:
1] Interview with the Recruiter
2] CCAT Test and Technical Question Test (The results are not provided for good reasons, though I am curious about my performance.)
3) Interview with the Hiring Manager - Focused on customer success questions.
4) Interview with the Director of Support - Focused on technical questions.
5 )Written Challenge
6 )Meeting with the COO
Overall, the process was thorough and engaging, providing a comprehensive understanding of the company and its people. Which I feel is not common.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Files.com (Tempe, AZ) in Jan 2025
Interview
The first interview was with a recruiter from Files.com and lasted over an hour. It was an introductory and behavioral interview. After that, I was asked to complete the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) and a Technical Assessment online. Interestingly, the CCAT was more challenging than the Technical Assessment, as it required answering 50 multiple-choice questions in 15 minutes, whereas the Technical Assessment had only 10–15 questions with a 20-minute time limit.
Next, I had an interview with the hiring manager, which was also mostly behavioral and lasted about an hour. I felt confident in my responses, but after not receiving a response for some time, I had to follow up with the recruiter by phone. It turned out that I didn’t pass the final interview because they were looking for someone with a more business-oriented approach, whereas my responses were considered too technical. However, I found this surprising since our discussions primarily focused on business cases rather than deep technical topics.

Question 1
I don’t remember the exact questions, but most were about handling customer issues. For example, how to respond when customers report bugs or request new features that you haven’t learned yet.

First Round - 45 min interview HR Screen
Spent majority of the call walking through my entire resume step by step. As well as answering questions from a list questions that was already answered. A complete waste of valuable time. The recruiter should have been prepared and it seems as though my resume wasn't even glanced at prior let alone the application. Never have had an experience like that.
As a company that boasts its interview process as being mindful of both parties, this was not reflective.
--- Do note : This company severely lacks diversity ( both gender and ethnically) visible on website and linkedin and was of no surprise to not move forward.
