I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at First Solar (Bridgewater, NJ) in May 2015
Interview
The way to get an internship is usually being recommended by someone. The interview is not really a interview, they presented the company and the people in charge of the different areas. People are very smart and nice. Great Atmosphere

Application
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at First Solar (San Francisco, CA) in May 2018
Interview
First phone call was with recruiter/HR for screening interview.
Second interview was an on-site interview from 8 am to 12pm. 30 minutes per interviewer/panel.
Never heard back after the on-site interview despite follow-up emails sent. Considering this opportunity closed.
For future interviewees I would suggest asking for a phone interview with the hiring manager prior to the onsite interview. The job description was not clear that the role was not a design role and was in fact a front-end site identification/evaluation role, which I honestly preferred but it was probably clear to the hiring manager that I didn't realize that prior to going in.
