      Anonymous employee
      Plano, TX

I applied online. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Plano, TX) in Oct 2020

      Interview

A few phone call interviews. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Most questions were the standard interview questions. Tell me about a time... and you answer. The way to start at the company is either through this role or through a sales role.

      Interview

2 Interviews 1st: Phone screening recruiter- If you are qualified the recruiter will push you forward. In my experience the recruiter did ask an interview type question (Tell me a time you had to deal with a difficult customer and what you did). I think this is mainly to get a grasp weather you know how to answer questions using STAR method. 2nd: In-person. 3 Interviewers (2 branch managers their in person and hiring consultant sits in online). They ask you a lot about the licensing process so make sure you have it down. Questions are standard STAR method questions. In my case, the hiring consultant was the key decision-maker, or at least the hardest to impress (remember their sole job is to evaluate candidates during the interview and inform branch managers as to weather they think they'd be a good fit). That said you definitely want to vibe with the branch managers as they will be the ones you are working with. In my case, the branch managers seemed more or less indifferent to who got hired and deferred more to the hiring consultant, who lead the interview. The hiring consultant's use the STAR method so have your specific examples ready and use them on every question. Be concise and let them ask you as many questions as possible so they have more data to evaluate you. Ask good informed questions but don't get too cute (plenty of good articles online on what questions you should or shouldn't ask). *Remember these roles are very competitive, they seem to weight most heavily how you perform on the in-person interview. I'd recommend reaching out to the recruiter as much as possible leading up to the interview and make sure you really understand the role, and have a much intel about the interview process as possible. Remember the recruiter has no say in the selection process so if you are constantly contacting her with interview questions, you don't have to worry about coming across as needy or annoying.
