I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Camas, WA) in Dec 2013
Interview
I was called in for SEVEN interviews and was not offered the job because my credit check did not meet their standards. That was really irritating, especially because I was upfront with them from the beginning about a mark on there, but they still wasted my time... and money because I had to rent cars to go out there. Also, when I came onsite for an interview they made me wait because they "needed to find people to do it."
In the end, I didn't really want the job anyways because they literally have 100+ people doing the exact same job I was applying for. As others have mentioned, it was a very "boiler-room" atmosphere (for 4 floors) that my guide tried to hype up, but seemed really depressing to me. I asked repeatedly how a person was supposed to advance in an environment like that where there are so many people in the same position and they just told me you had to work harder than everyone else, which was pretty vague in my opinion.
Oh, and I just had a person from Fisher try to recruit me on LinkedIn again. There's apparently no communication or record-keeping, as well. So happy I didn't even have to consider the option!!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The exact same questions in every interview on basic skills and applicable work history. You will go on auto-pilot by the second one.
The initial phone interview felt incredibly rushed. Despite the position being marketed as a wealth management role, it is essentially a high-volume asset-retention phone center. The day-to-day focus is simply convincing clients not to transfer their money out of the firm rather than providing actual, comprehensive wealth management or tailored financial planning services. Very misleading job description.

I applied online. I interviewed at Fisher Investments (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2026
Interview
Overall process what a little lengthily but interview process was nothing to overly stress about. The first round was an initial screening, covering mostly the position itself and what to expect moving forward. The second-round interview did include a mock client call in which some material was provided beforehand to review.
