Interview Process was quick and easy. I got asked to interview at a certain time but then got called 20 mins before and it was pushed out to almost another hour. I arrived at the store and waited even longer since the managers were in a meeting still. I interviewed with a manager and took the oral drug test, while taking the drug test I filled out some paperwork given to me as the first part of the hiring process. She asked me normal job interview questions, mostly about "What would you do" questions. After, I was told to wait 2-5 days for the drug and background check to clear. A week passed and I still had not gotten a call. I decided to call the store and find some answers, I found out that the manager I had interviewed with got transferred to a different location. She had not notified anyone that she had hired me, how unprofessional. I even got the results back from my drug test and background check, all clear. So they told me to come in a few days later in order to schedule training. However, when I came in they said there were no open spaces for the training class you are required to take before working. They told me once again I would get a call by the end of the week, I did not. I called once again and the manager who was supposed to call me wasn't there. Luckily, I had received an email from their Human Resource Rep who welcomed me and told him not to hesitate to ask him any other questions aside from my hiring. I asked him for an update on my job offer, he said he would gladly look into it. I then got a call from a manager asking if I was still interested but it would take 3 weeks to get into the next training class. The manager was annoyed at the fact that I was asking the HR Rep about my job and informing him of my hiring process. I also received a request for Union Dues but I hadn't started working yet so I wasn't going to pay them. I contacted the Union that represents Food4Less and their Union representative told me I didn't have to pay them due to the fact that I haven't been working yet. He also told me that if I was being treated like that right off the bat from a employer I probably wouldn't be happy working for them. He told me to work elsewhere at one of the other stores that he represents (Albertson's or Ralph's) because their contracts are better than Food4Less and they hire fast and easy. After some back and forth emails with Food4Less' HR Rep and was given very brief answers, I kindly declined their offer because I wasn't willing to wait almost a month and a half for a job at a grocery store.
