I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Food Lion (Waynesville, NC) in May 2013
Interview
It was incredibly easy. I showed up wearing a professional outfit but not a full interview suit or anything, and the whole interview only took about thirty minutes and I was offered the job at the end of it. I interviewed with the store manager and then the customer service manager, and had no previous job experience at the time. But I was nice and enthusiastic and it was really stress free pretty much the entire time.

Question 1
Do you have any experience working with an underprivileged customer base?
The interview was pretty much a regular and easy experienced. I was not asked any questions that were difficult to answer or required much of a thought process beyond common sense.

Question 1
Do you have experience as a cashier and with money?
Straightforward online interview with minimal in person. Questions online, followed up with phone and some final in person admin work. This was a pretty simple process that required very little time and investment on my end.
Came into the store and met with the manager who asked me about myself and my experience, asked a few questions relevant to the job, told me about the job and the onboarding process, asked if I had any questions, then started the necessary hiring paperwork.
