They reached out to me and scheduled a telephone interview. Everything seemed very positive and they had my resume and application information to review. When the telephone interview occurred, it was extremely perfunctory as if they had decided to just go through the motions. It didn't last more than about 20 minutes and it was more a case of the person talking at me rather than asking any questions. I suspect that they either had changed their minds completely about the position that was open or they were discriminating based on age and trying not to be too obvious about it. I spent a pretty fair amount of time preparing for the interview; reviewing the posting versus my resume, coming up with questions for them and answers for potential questions from them. It was essentially a waste of time. It would have been better if they'd contacted me a few days before and cancelled and I wouldn't have wasted so much of my time and effort on them.
