Interview
Process began with a number of 30-minute phone / video calls with members of the operations team -- those discussions were focused rather heavily on culture, people management, and thinking through some higher-level operational topics with respect to managing a site.
The on-site day in San Francisco consisted of a number of one-on-ones with senior team members culminating in a "jam" where we discussed a number of open-ended questions in a group setting. Prior to the on-site, I completed two "homework" exercises focused on analyzing growth / marketing data and developing a marketing / growth framework for rolling out a new site, which formed the basis for much of the "jam". All of this for a packed day, but also gave me a great sense for the working culture which I appreciated.
I had ample opportunity to ask questions throughout the process as well, which was obviously appreciated. The answers definitely reflected the level of transparency which I've since learned is a real bedrock of Forward's culture.
Overall I felt it was a balanced process between testing for experience, people management, culture, and analytical mindset / intellectual "horsepower"

I interviewed with 5 Site Leads across the US and then was invited for final interviews + "Jam Session" at HQ in SF.
The Jam Session is an interactive ~1 hour round table presentation/discussion on your work in response to the prompts.

Interview with a junior member of the team/recruiter, followed by a senior member. The first interview was great, nice structure and well-organized conversation. The following interview with the more senior member was a waste of my time. She just read off her screen of questions to ask and didn't seem interested in my answers or getting to know me. She often looked at her nails or off-screen and it threw me off with how unprofessional and unthoughtful she was throughout the process. Didn't seem like she wanted to be there at all.
