      Recruiting Coordinator Interview

      Jul 20, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Forward (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021

      Interview

There is a 30 minute intro call where they ask typical questions, but there was one question about how you would start your own restaurant and all the steps you would take to build it out. I thought that was interesting and innovative. Then there is an hour and a half long interview with about 3 employees. Those interviews were relatively easy as well, again, just typical interview questions. Then there is a project that takes 4-6 hours to complete. There are 3-4 prompts and you have to present your work to a team, which lasts about an hour. After working on this presentation for 6 hours, I finally presented to the team. The team asked difficult questions throughout, but remained relatively quiet otherwise. This company leans on phone calls when it comes to next steps or rejections. So I would have to coordinate over email with the Recruiter just to know the next steps for each step of the way. The Recruiter called me 2 days after my presentation, after some back and forth on scheduling, just to say he had no update. I asked if there was any feedback and he said he knew what it was but wasn't allowed to tell me. Then after a few days of trying to get on another call and a lot more back and forth, I finally got on the phone with the Recruiter just for him to reject me. Again, I asked for feedback and he said it was "company policy" to not provide candidates any feedback. I was appalled. After spending this much time and energy with a company, especially 6 hours on a project, I would have appreciated any type of feedback. Plus the presentation isn't even the end of it. If you make it past that, there is ANOTHER interview with the CEO and another department head. Kind of ridiculous for a simple Recruiting Coordinator role. Cherry on top is they refuse to give details about salary or benefits. I am really put off by this experience and would give caution to anyone who is applying that this is a LONG and tedious process. Much more so than any other Recruiting Coordinator role I've applied for.

      Interview

Only got to the first level of the interview (30 min Google Meets). The person I interviewed with was not who I expected to meet. On my interview email, I was given the impression that I would meet with one of the recruiting coordinators, but I got to speak with the head of recruiting.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Forward (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2022

      Interview

I applied for the new grad recruiting coordinator position that includes a training program via Linkedin. I received an email back the next day asking me to schedule a phone interview. After the phone interview, I was notified that I would get moved forward by the end of the phone call, and received an email confirmation for the next round of interviews two days after. This second round consisted of two 30-minute interviews. I was asked some behavioral questions but talked mostly about myself and my background. I was not notified by the end of the call if I got moved forward, but received an email a few days after moving me to the last stage. This last stage was the on-site where I went into the office, presented an assignment with someone, and spoke with 3 other people for 30 min each. The whole on-site was 2 hours. The next day, I got another email detailing next steps and had a call with the hiring manager where I was presented with an offer. The whole process moved very fast, and it seemed highly efficient. All of my interviewers were able to answer my questions that were outside of their job scope, so it seems like folks who work here are personally invested in the company and what happens beyond their job scope. My questions were heavily focused on getting to know my background, why I wanted to get into recruiting, and why I wanted to work at Forward. I had a few behavioral/time-management-related questions, but no situational questions relating to recruiting coordination, perhaps because this was a new grad role that didn't require prior experience. Overall, this was a very smooth interview process for me. It seems like this process has improved in its efficiency and responsiveness a lot in these past couple of weeks/months, considering the other negative reviews here. I was pleasantly surprised.
