I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Forward (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
The interview process was fairly standard with an initial engineering screen followed by a virtual onsite with four interviews mostly focusing on system design problems. These interviews were all professional and friendly which gave me a positive impression of the company culture.
However, that changed when I had a final set of two interviews with leadership. My interviews with the CEO and CTO immediately felt like an interrogation. Both of them were very focused on gauging my passion for healthcare and changing the world, rather than my skills as a software engineer. This would have been fine, except that the way they conducted the interview felt downright hostile.
One person at the company told me they were "looking to hire highly dedicated people who wouldn't just leave after a few years for a better paying job elsewhere when things got tough."
