I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Forward (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2023
Interview
Here were all the interviews that I went through: 1. Recruiter general screening 2. Second round with a PM on the team 3. Final round with 4 team members on different teams, each person was from a different team, as well as a general cultural/vibe check interview I remember when I was interviewing, I read a lot of negative reviews on this page. Now that I've gone through it myself, I wanted to share my thoughts. The Forward recruiters are on top of it and did a great job scheduling the interviews. Everyone I met in the process was really friendly, and I appreciated how driven everyone seemed. Overall, had a good interview experience. I really did feel like I aced (or nearly aced) every interview - every interviewer seemed excited about my social impact and PM experience all the way through the final round. Because of that, I was pretty surprised to not get an offer in the end. The feedback I got was that on my end, I wasn't lacking anything - wasn't sure what that meant, but I guess it just for some reason wasn't a good fit. My advice would be to do your research on Forward, show that you've done your research, and really show your enthusiasm for the company and the mission (but don't fake it though of course).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Many questions surrounding how you define impact, why you care about impact, similar to other reviews. I think this makes sense, given that they are so targeted at finding people who care about impact in their careers. Others were case studies/scenarios, some related to the product and others not. They are pretty metrics focused.
the whole process was 6 weeks long
spoke to two PMs and then there was a 3 hour onsite with a take-home assignment to develop a speaker system from Sonos.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Forward in Nov 2023
Interview
The first round was a call with a PM, and he asked general behavioral questions while describing his job, the role, and the scope of the work. It was quite a friendly conversation.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Forward (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2023
Interview
I would suggest to not waste your time and energy with this company. The process was unnecessarily long. I ended up giving 5 rounds of interviews - 3 of which were onsite. Each onsite had me talking to 4 different people. The process took over 3 months. It also involved solving case studies and participating in Jam sessions. All of this ended with me getting a note saying - "There was not anything lacking from your end but the team is still figuring out the exact requirements of the role". They then came back 2 weeks later to make an extremely low offer. It seems like the company does not want what it is looking for when it interviews a candidate so they are just looking to interview as many people as they can and find an unrealistic candidate.
