I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Fractal (Bengaluru) in Oct 2019
Interview
I got a mail from Fractal Analytics to share the profile. Whole process is well managed and I got quick response after each process. After sharing the profile, interview process was completed in below steps:
1. HackerRank test: This consist of 4 python and 4 SQL questions. This questions are test case base. If you have basic understanding of problem solving skills you can easily clear this test.
2. Technical Interview: This is the best technical interview that I ever faced in my career till now. He is very polite and explaining the situation very well. First he introduced himself and basic information regarding the roles and responsibility. He literally grilled me for various ML concepts, statistics behind few algorithms like Random Forest, logistic regression and NLP. As I already having working experience on various ML techniques, I answered almost all of the questions.
3. Business Interview: She took my interview in Fractal office Bangalore. She is very humble. Initially I was little bit nervous but she helped me to feel normal. After casual discussion, she gave me a case study of one application. She want to know the KPIs and metrics involved with respect to Business head and Technical lead point of view.
4. HR Round: Basic questions like why you want to Join fractal, why you want to leave your previous organisation etc.
Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your experience interviewing with Fractal. We are pleased to see the process was smooth & positive for you! We appreciate your investment in and commitment to the process. Congratulations on the offer!
Other Data Scientist Interview Reviews for Fractal
I attended a one-hour AI/ML interview focused on Machine Learning fundamentals and practical applications. The discussion covered ML algorithms, model selection strategies, evaluation metrics, feature engineering, optimization techniques, and deployment challenges. The interview included conceptual, problem-solving, and scenario-based questions to assess both theoretical understanding and practical experience in AI/ML.

Question 1
The interview was primarily focused on Generative AI concepts and their practical applications. Questions covered Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, embeddings, fine-tuning techniques, and AI agent frameworks. The interviewer also asked scenario-based questions on designing GenAI solutions, selecting appropriate architectures for different use cases, handling hallucinations, evaluating model performance, and addressing scalability, security, and deployment challenges. Additionally, there were discussions around real-world implementation of GenAI applications, model optimization, and best practices for building production-ready AI systems.
Good and Short interview process
3 round of interview
1 take home assignment
1 round technical
1 round HR
each interview last 30min
Interviewer were supportive and helping
Whole interview take 1 week
Mildly challenging and nice. I would probably reduce number of rounds, i had 4 of them. The first two were technical and third one was managerial. The last round was done for cultural fit.
