Applied online, got called for phone interview 2weeks. Asked for three references, wanted to know why I was leaving my current employer. Asked me to tell them about my work history for the last ten years.

Interview
Chris was extremely pleasant. She was empathetic and personable as well as transparent. I was lucky to have had the pleasure of interviewing with her. We went over available hours, expectations, focuses etc.

They asked about customer service skills and scenarios, why I wanted to join, and what I could contribute.
I applied through the Careers section on Fred Meyer's website, originally for a different position in the store. The interview was pretty easy and was values and experience based. I was offered the job on the spot and a few weeks later was contacted about taking on the cashier role instead of the one that I originally applied for.
