I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fred Meyer (Vancouver, WA) in Jul 2017
Interview
I applied online and a week or so later I got an email saying to call for a phone interview. Seeing as I haven't worked before and am only 16 it was kinda hard, harder than the in person interview I had after. The in person interview was quick, they did lose my application and had some hick ups in the process but i got hired so I'm gonna complain. The phone interview was about 3 questions about costumer service and the in person interview was 3 questions that were easy. I came to the in person interview dressed nicely in black skinny jeans cuz that's all I had, a button down shirt and black dress boots. As long as you have a good attitude, are willing to work and pass a drug test, you will probably get hired for this position

I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Fred Meyer (Kent, WA) in Jun 2021
Interview
I first applied online on their website. It took about 1 week for them to contact me back with an email about a phone interview.
For the phone interview, it is very simple. No need to be extremely worried about this as it is very short and they only ask a couple of questions related to availability, work history, and maybe 1-2 open ended questions before deciding to move you on to the next round of interview, a face-to-face interview. You’ll be scheduled to take a face-to-face interview at the store you are applying to.
Today, I had my in-store interview and it was absolutely chill and a calming experience. The interviewer had been very nice and was very friendly. This was also my very first actual interview and I tend to be a very shy person. As long as you take a deep breath and rehearse answers to sample interview questions, you’ll have a very high chance of getting the job offer! I was hired on the spot and I start soon.
Here are some questions I got asked:
What is your availability?
Tell me a little about yourself.
Name a time where you had to multitask.
Describe a time where you had to take charge of something without someone having to tell you to do so.
Describe a time where you had to organize messy areas.
Very easy and fast. The interviewer was extremely kind and caring. She thought I was older and offered me a better job but I couldn’t take it because I was underage
