      Auto Damage Appraiser Interview

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at GEICO (New Orleans, LA) in Jul 2016

      Interview

This was one of longest drawn out interview processes that I have ever been through. I am an experienced appraiser with 16 years experience with insurance companies and body shops. The in person assessment interview was, in my opinion, not very professional. The total interview process from start to finish was a total of FOUR hours! There is a role play portion of the interview that was totally irrelevant and convoluted. Firstly, there was this antiquated cassette player that had 30 minutes of so called instructions that I could barely hear. Secondly, the whole role wasn't even related to auto appraisal, it was some fabricated claim related position related to the service of office equipment. There was so many different forms to fill out and instructions to follow that there was no way to get it right. Then you had to take calls and answer the door all while trying to sort through a mountain of useless forms to fill out. It's a set up to fail. There is a relevant experienced estimators test and two estimates to write. That's about all the there was to this whole interview process that was related to auto damage appraising. Geico had an opportunity to hire an experienced adjuster but they blew it with all this unnecessary fluff.

      Interview

Went through three sets of phone interviews. They said if I passed that third one I would be going to their training but I didn't make it for that final round

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Gave examples of customer scenarios and asked what would you do (ex. if a customer kept calling and complaining?). There's no right or wrong, they just want to see how you'd respond.

      Interview

Once they like your resume, they have you go through tons of sets of interviews. First time I did an over the phone 15 minute, then I was given an online test to take. I went through an hour long interview for experience and then was given another online test. I went through another over the phone interview again. One more time again an interview was given, this time upper management. Be ready for tons of interviews.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Hypothetically, you have 20 hours of labor time each month to provide to the body shops. The first month you passed out 18 hours, the second month you distributed 4 hours. What's your concern about the situation?

Slow, hard to get the recruiter to return calls after requesting information. Had to contact a HR senior rep after 10 days of no return call for information they needed which was a one click email with proof of state licensing.
