      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at GEICO (Chevy Chase, MD) in Jul 2020

      Interview

This recruiting process occurred during carona virus and lasted a little over a month. First I was asked to fill out a survey with basic behavioral questions. Then I was told I was moving on to the next step which was an excel assessment. For this you need to know the basics of how to perform arithmetic in excel, how to make visuals with excel, and have analytical technical skills. About a week after this I was told I had a phone interview. This interview was 30 minutes long and just covered behavioral questions. The interviewer was nice to talk to and I felt like the interview went great. A week later I was told I was moving on to the final interview which was a video interview. It was very disappointing I could not meet them in person because I feel like I would have done better in a natural setting. However, the interview went pretty smoothly with two interviewers and myself. They asked me some of the same behavioral questions as the interview before which resulted in some of the same responses from me. They also asked me business problem questions that seemed to be questions to kind of trip me up. Make sure you really think about the question they are asking you and how the problems would affect and insurance business before answering. Lastly, they ended the interview by asking me how much I wanted the job from 0 - 10. This is quite an annoying question. I of course said 10 then made a joke about how I really want to start working (which probably was not the best route). They said they would contact me back the following week, however, I did not receive my automated rejection letter until two weeks after the final interview.
