I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at GEICO
Interview
1. Submitted online application through website
2. Contacted by HR and filled out a questionnaire
3. Did a short analytical test in Excel with basic finance, insurance, business questions (about a 2 hour time limit from when you are emailed the file). There's nothing with complicated math but some insurance terminology can be foreign without experience.
3. Phone interview (~20 minutes). Standard, straightforward interview questions to gauge how interested you are in the company and how serious about being an actuary you are.
4. In-person interview (full day with about 4 different interviews covering different topics)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Why do you want this position?
Given basic Questionnaire to answer, then some old-fashioned Excel test where you are given things you likely haven't been really exposed to, considering you are applying for an entry-level position
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at GEICO (Croton-on-Hudson, NY)
Interview
The process was quick and simple. Performing well on the excel assessment definitely helped move me along in the interview process (the excel assessment is more a pricing assessment). HR was helpful, too. Note: if you say you are proficient in a software or language, they will probably ask you some questions!

Question 1
Can you explain the basics of pricing and reserving and how they differ?
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at GEICO (Chevy Chase, MD) in Mar 2020
Interview
The interviewer appeared to be condescending the whole time. No feedback and no emotion. Unpleasant experience. But had to admit that I did not fully prepare especially when the interviewer asked me to name a restaurant near the workplace.
